A disability isn’t a prison sentence. There are more resources and support for independently-minded disabled individuals than ever before. Even if you’re not completely disabled but have impaired movement, hearing, or sight, you will benefit from the many resources in your community and online.

Greater Nashville Area Agency on Aging & Disability
GNAAA&D provides programs and services for the aging and disabled Nashvillians.

Tennessee Commission on Aging and Disability
The Commission protects the rights and dignity of older Tennesseans through advocacy, leadership, and stewardship.

Easter Seals
The organization aims helps disabled adults engage in family and community life, education, work and recreation. Its range of services include vocational training, family support services, personal assistance, social services, and a fitness center.

Go to College (Almost) For Free
If you’re a Senior or disabled Tennessean, you can take state university courses for next to nothing on a space-available basis. This applies to seniors over 60 for auditing courses and to those over 65 who earn credit hours.
