Free College Courses
Go to College (Almost) For Free
If you’re a Senior or disabled Tennessean, you can take state
university courses for next to nothing! This applies to seniors
over 60 for auditing courses and to those over 65 who earn credit
hours. Open on a space-available basis, these classes are theoretically
without any tuition or registration fees. It’s not a totally
free lunch in practice – application and service fees are
worked in, and incidentals vary from college to college. Check out
your favorite state school’s procedure below.
