particularly in rural areas. Its Senior Community Service Employment
Program, funded by the Department of Labor, provides training, work
experience, educational opportunities, and placement in community

The AARP Senior Community
Service Employment Program (SCSEP)
The SCSEP provides temporary work experience for seniors over 55
whose incomes fall at or below the federal poverty line. Enrollees
are given temporary assignments with nonprofit organizations where
they can sharpen and develop skills while searching for a permanent
job.
